The Green Apple Project supports leadership at four levels.

  1. High-Level Leadership. One key to building weide participation is leadership from high level administration (Superintendents and Principals). Staff and students look for high level direction and vision before they engage any program. The Green Apple Project provides tools that enables high level leaders to engage and provide direction with a minimal time investment.
  2. Energy Coaches. This unique position is vital to the success of the program. Energy Coaches are paid an annual stipend. The stipend is paid from the program savings. They lead the ongoing engagement of students and staff. The green Apple Project provides a detailed process and resources for the Energy Coaches to follow to ensure success. The Energy Coaches receive their authority from the administration. They are charged with leading the energy conservation efforts on a daily basis.
  3. Green Team. The Green Team is part of the process and is comprised of interested staff in each building. Their primary goal is to advise the Energy Coaches on the best ways to engage students and staff. The green team also becomes the early adopters of the program and model behaviors for the organization.
  4. Program Coordinator. The Program Coordinator provides ongoing support for the Energy Coaches and provies updates and new strategies to save energy throughout the program.
